Thoughts on weight loss products

I have a pretty simple question about olive oil. How much is too much in a day? I love to eat salads because I put all kinds of good stuff like fruits, vegetables, and nuts. So, I pretty much knock out everything good I'm suppose to eat in one salad. I make my own dressing which is simply 1/3 olive oil, 2/3 balsamic vinaigrette, and some pepper. How many tbsps should I limit myself a day with the olive oil, because I might have a salad at lunch and then another one at dinner sometimes? I know it's a good source of good fats, but even then, too much can be bad.

To not over complicate things 1-2 TBS a day are fine. You could also use Udo's oil in replace of olive oil for a better healthy alternative. Not all olive oils are actually a pure olive oil. Many are blends (though they try to hide that in the small print). One other thing is to watch what all you put in your salads because most fruits don't digest well with veggies because of their high acid content. If you are going to have fruit on the salad it should be a sub-acid fruit like apples or blueberry. There is a food combining chart on our website that shows you this in a little better detail. --The tab is at the top---

Opinion on weight loss programs and products

Some of you have asked about weight loss programs. Whether Nutrasystem, weight watchers, shakes by vi, atkins, etc., etc., I have never once in my life witnessed any long term results from any weight loss program, product, pill, shake, book, diet, etc, etc. Your bad eating habits put the weight on you in the first place and the only way to resolve the issue is to --GET RID OF THE BAD EATING HABITS. We teach healthy living classes based on a whole foods lifestyle. Buying into a Diet programs is another effort by those people who constantly are looking for quick and easy weight loss solution--willing to invest time and money into anything that seems easier than simply choosing to live a healthy lifestyle. Choosing to eat the right foods in the right proportions day in and day out will in time allow anyone to SAFELY drop weight. Eating right will give you a life time of good health and proper weight---not some shake you will be tired of in another month and fall back into old patterns. I feel any and all products being sold to guarantee weight loss--are simply a gimmick to make money. It doesn't cost anything to invest your time into proper eating and exercise and sorry---that is what it takes to make a permanent change in your weight and better your health.

I looked over the different green powder products available on the market--I feel they are all similar to Barley Max. I have been doing Barley Max and Spirilina and no other supplements of any sorts (except currently taking Royal Jelly for this month to see if it really improves skin tone). Anyway- those two products seem to provide everything I need. There is so much out on the market--everyone trying to get their share of profits to be made. The more I learn I realize that first and foremost there is no product that is a subsitute for eating your greens. The dark greens provide pretty much the majority of what we need. If you are deficient in something, find a good natural supplement that will boost those levels. Eating a well balanced diet- eliminating all sugars and staying low in carbs, low on animal products, juicing in the mornings plus adding in a pure veggie juice powder like Barley Max- does amazing things. Proven time and time again. There are no short cuts, magicial supplements or wonder powders that will ever do what Gods foods can do.

What supplement do you recommend for Vitamin D

To answer vit D. question- It actually is not a simple answer. What I recommend is never buy anything until you figure out why you are lacking in the first place. If that has already been addressed then getting what you need - directly from the source is best. If additional sunlight is not an option add these foods to your diet- Organic and fresh sources for- sardines ,goat's milk, shiitake mushrooms, and eggs.
